2.10 Dougie Peel @ 7.8
Dam related to winners at 7f-1m4f but there is plenty of speed in the pedigree; stable has fair strike-rate with juvenile newcomers and market should guide.
2.45 Rubirosa @ 8.80 Baldemar @ 16.00 e/w
Rubirosa: C&D winner on debut last year and unfortunate not to win over this trip in soft ground at Ayr on penultimate start; disappointed on final run but yard started the season in good heart and very interesting from high draw.
Baldemar: C&D winner last August who was far from disgraced over 5f on last two starts, leaving impression that return to this trip would suit; gelded since final start and handles cut; one to keep an eye on for reappearance from stall 18.

3.20 Ronaldsay @ 4.8
Campaigned exclusively in fillies races but steadily progressive last year and returned to winning ways in soft penultimate start; best effort in Listed event in October and, although not seen since, yard in tremendous form so lack of recent run no problem; should go well.
3.55 Albaqaa @ 4.6 Cobo Bay @ 15.00 e/w
Albaqaa: Had a few chances last year but off the mark on first run for Richard Fahey in uncompetitive maiden on reappearance; runner-up, who finished well clear of rest, has since beaten 72-rated rival (reliable yardstick) in comfortable fashion so well worth a second look from 78 mark.
Cobo Bay:Progressed well last year and best effort over this trip on easy ground at Ayr in September; reportedly done well physically over the winter and interesting with conditions to suit on reappearance.

4.30 Al Wasef @ 4.20
$240,000 half-brother to dirt sprint winner in US and out of dam who also won on dirt (sprint); in-form yard more than capable of readying a newcomer and interesting on debut in uncompetitive event.
5.05 Tajneed @ 5.00 Yorkshire Blue @ 38.00 e/w
Tajneed: Useful for Dermot Weld and, despite form tailing off in second half of last year, showed he retains plenty of ability at Doncaster after break last week; may be better than bare form as he fared best of the prominent racers and of interest in this less competitive race.
Yorkshire Blue: Has never been at best on reappearance in previous years and is an inconsistent performer whose style of racing means he needs things to drop right; Paul Hanagan rides and yard among winners but may be best watched this time.

5.40 Paddywack @ 18 e/w Brut @ 15.00 e/w
Paddywack: Tough sprinter who took this race last year (didn´t go into it in the best of form) and well beaten on first start after short break at Pontefract; on same mark as for last win so not one to rule out in ordinary event. Brut: Had a good time of it last year with five wins (four at favoured Hamilton) over sprint distances; however, soundly beaten both starts this year and more needed before he is worth a bet again.
