The Victor Chandler Business

Founded in 1946, the Victor Chandler business continues to enjoy rapid
and sustained growth as it approaches its 60th year of operation.
Victor is the third generation of Chandlers to run the business. His
grandfather, Victor Chandler senior originally set up the company by
building Walthamstow Greyhound Stadium in North London. His father
expanded the business further by setting up a chain of 40 betting shops
around the United Kingdom.

Today, as Chairman and the driving force behind Britain’s leading
independent betting and gaming company, Victor has taken the business
worldwide. The Chandler Group now has customers in over 160
countries, employs over 500 people worldwide and has extensive
operations in the UK, Europe and Far East.

After 25 years in the business, he is one of the most respected figures
in the British bookmaking industry and in 2005 was voted “Bookmaking
Personality of the Year”. Victor has established a reputation for honour
and integrity and it was this that earned him the reputation of,
'The Gentleman bookmaker'.
